Speedy Recovery Wishes

This card was created for a friend who just had knee replacement surgery. I tell her she's a pro at this because she already had a knee replacement on one leg, a hip replacement and now a second knee replacement on the other leg. She's the Titanium Queen!

I began this card by preparing the background for this scene. I die cut a layer in white card stock using a postage stamp frame die and then used some digital paper to add the wall paper and wood grain paper to create the paneling. This was put aside so as to work on the die cut elements.

The armchair was die cut in blue velvet card stock, the pillow image in some digital paper that coordinated with the wall paper. The crutch images where die cut in kraft craft stock and in brown velvet card stock for the crutch pads and tips. The bookshelf was die cut in black mirror card stock and the  books were paper pieced with various colored card stock. Since I didn't have a large enough bear die, I used a digital image and fussy cut it. White velvet card stock was cut by hand and used to create the bandage on the bear's knee.

Now it was  time to put everything together. For my base card I used navy card stock to which background layer was adhered. The armchair was positioned on the background layer and adhered with dimensionals and adhesive. The pillow and bear were then positioned on the chair and adhered using dimensionals and adhesive. The bookshelf was adhered with adhesive as were the crutches. My sentiment was a computer generated and then die cut with an oval die and adhered to the card with dimensionals.  My project was complete.

Here are the materials used:

Card Stock:  GKD Pure Luxury White, In the Navy, Kraft; Black mirror paper, various colors of card stock for the books; patterned paper and wood grain paper from my stash

Dies:  Sue Wilson Postage Stamp Frame, Marianne Designs Armchair, Cottage Cutz Wheelchair, Frantic Stamper Bookshelf
