Fairy Pink

Hello, my friends! Here it is Thursday already and time for another Twisted Thursday challenge at The Outlawz, where the theme is always "Anything Goes" with an Optional Twist. However, there is no twist in this week's challenge. We can create anything our hearts desire.

As a member of Design Team, here's what I created as inspiration for this challenge. My image is a Bestie digital stamp and I think she is so cute. Since her dress was already colored (all the rest was a black and white line art image) and was gray with pink, I decided to use pink, gray and white as my color theme.

My image was printed out on white card stock. I colored her hair with Copic markers. The rest of the image was colored using Spectrum Noir markers. After coloring, the image was die cut and embossed using Spellbinders Elegant Ovals  and matted with a pink panel which was cut with Marianne Creatables Anja's Large Ovals die.

At this point I prepared my base card in white and layered it with gray floral patterned paper which was cut with a die from Sue Wilson's Spanish Collection Seville set.  (the patterned paper looks almost grape in the photo, but it is actually a dark gray)

With my base card prepared, my focal image was then popped onto the base with dimensionals. As a final touch, I added touches of glitter to the fairy wings.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you join us for this fun challenge at

Strawberry Thank You

Hello, everyone! Summer is just around the corner and I made this card with that in mind. Strawberries always remind me of summer. I love them all year round (when I can get them), but especially in the summer when they are red and ripe and so very sweet. The optional twist for this week's challenge at The Outlawz was the "First Day of Summer" and so I used strawberries as my central theme for my card.

I began with preparing my base card in white card stock and layering it with black. Next, I added a layer of patterned paper and put this aside to work on my focal image.

My image is a Bestie's digital stamp entitled Berry Blossom which I printed out and colored with both Copics and Spectrum Noir markers. When done, it was die cut with Spellbinders Delicate Ovals. Before removing it from the die, I sponged around the edges with PTI Aqua Mist ink. This was then popped onto my prepared base card with dimensionals.

The sentiments were created on my computer and printed out. The "Thank You" sentiment was cut and embossed with a die from Spellbinders 5x7 Detailed Scallops and the bottom sentiment was cut and embossed using Spellbinders A2 Tranquil Moments die. These were then positioned and popped onto the base card with dimensionals.

This completed my project. I hope you enjoyed this post and were inspired to create. Thanks for stopping by and make it a great day!

Two Hearts Wedding

Hello, crafters! If you know me, you know I just LOVE using dies! Here is a card I made for a challenge at Dies R Us where the theme was "weddings".

I began with creating my base card in white card stock and layering it with white,  the edges of which were embossed with gold EP. Next, I composed my sentiment, printed it out on white and then sized and cut the panel to fit my card base and adhered it to the base.

My border was created using a die from Sue Wilson's Italian Collection set. I die cut and embossed 2 borders and then adhered them together to form the two- edged border. After adhering the border to my card, I added Liquid Pearls down the center.

The two hearts were cut with a die from HFC Timeless Amour in white card stock. Then, I brushed Versamark over each heart, covered them with gold EP and embossed them. These were then popped on to my base with dimensionals, one heart overlapping the other.

As a final touch, I assembled a double loop bow, cut with Sue Wilson's Filigree Ribbon dies and adhered it to my border, adding a pearl in the center.

I hope you liked this card and that it gave you some inspiration to create. Thanks for stopping by and make it a craft filled day!

Carousel

Hello! Summer is just days away.....the daily ice cream truck's tune can be heard around the neighborhood, the pools will be opening, and of course, carnivals will be drawing crowds of people for rides, games and food.

I received this beautiful Tattered Lace carousel die cut image with an order I placed at Joan's Gardens. It reminds me of summer and all the excitement that a carnival brings, especially to the young. So I decided to use it in my project and make it into a child's summer birthday card. (This would also make a lovely baby card).

I began with a white base card and created a scalloped border on the bottom edges using a Fiskar's border punch. Next, I layered my base with denim blue card stock and some patterned paper that I pulled from my stash.

For the focal panel, I used blue denim card stock and cut it with Spellbinders Labels Thirty Six and embossed it using a Darice Stripes folder. Next, I popped on the carousel die cut image with dimensionals, rounding it onto the focal panel and placing the dimensionals, one at either end of the image, to adhere it. Finally, I die cut my greeting using a Cheery Lynn die and adhered it at the bottom. And that completed my project.

Thanks for visiting and make it a great day!

Cupcake

Hello everyone! Well, it's Thursday again and time for another Twisted Thursday "Anything Goes" challenge at The Outlawz. The optional twist for this week is "Sew/Flax Sewing". This twist includes faux sewing as well...creating stitch marks on your project with a pen.

I chose the cute little cupcake image from Besties and colored it with Copics. Next, I cut and embossed it with the largest die from Spellbinders A2 Valiant Honor.  A dark green ribbon was weaved through the openings around the entire die cut panel to represent the "sewing" option. It was then popped on to white card stock which was adhered to a mint green base card. My sentiment was computer generated, cut with Spellbinders Beaded Ovals die and then sponged around the edges with PTI Ocean Mist ink before being removed form the die and popped onto my base card.

I hope you enjoyed this post and got your MOJO going to create something for this week's challenge at The Outlawz.  Looking forward to seeing your awesome creations!

Love Believes All

Hello, again! I am on a roll with these black and white cards. Here's yet another one I made for this week's challenge at Joan's Touch.

I created my card base in white card stock. Next, I cut and embossed a background in black card stock using Sue Wilson's California Background die and adhered it to my base. My sentiment, from GKD Stately Flowers 8, was stamped in black ink on white card stock and die cut with Spellbinders 5x7 Detailed Scallops. Once again, before removing it from the die, it was sponged with Memento Gray Flannel ink. Finally, the sentiment panel was popped onto the base with dimensionals.

I love how this card turned out as well....simple but elegant. I hope you enjoyed it too. Thanks for visiting and have a great day!

Anniversary in Black & White

Here's another card I made for this week's challenge at Joan's Touch. Again, the criteria was to use black and white, scallops and dimension.

The base card was created using black card stock. I added a layer in white, die cut and embossed with Spellbinder's 5x7 Detailed Scallops. Next, on black card stock,  I stamped a sentiment from GKD Elegant Post stamp set in Versamark and embossed it with white EP. This was then cut and embossed with a die from Spellbinder's Elegant Ovals and popped on to my card with dimensionals.

The flower was created using Marianne Creatables Flowers Fantasy die. It was then layered and a drop of black Stickles was added to the center. When dry, the flower was popped on with dimensionals. The leaf branches were cut using  Poppy Stamps Leafy Sprig die, positioned around the flower and adhered to my card.

This completed my project. Thank you for visiting my blog and please stop by often. Until next time, have a wonderful and creative day!

I am proud to share that......

My card was a winner in Joan's Touch

and was featured on The Outlawz

Love Bears All

Good Tuesday morning, everyone! This week's challenge at Joan's Touch called for making a card in black and white, use scallops and add dimension. Here is one card I made for this challenge. A second card will be posted in the next post.

I began by creating my base card in white. I cut a layer in black using a  Sue Wilson's Cordoba die and popped it onto my base with dimensionals. In my next step I stamped my sentiment (from GKD Stately Flowers 8) in black ink. This was then cut and embossed with Spellbinder's 5x7 Detailed Scallops die. Before removing it from the die, I sponged it with Memento Gray Flannel ink and popped in on to my card with dimensionals. As a last step, I cut a leafy corner using Cheery Lynn's Ivy Corner Flourish die and adhered it to my card.

I really love how this card turned out. Black and white is always stunning and elegant. I think this would be a lovely card for a wedding or anniversary.

I hope you enjoyed this post. Thanks for stopping by and please sign up to follow my blog to be notified each time I add a new posting.
Makes it a great day today!

Birthday Shopping

Hello, everyone! June has arrived and summer is almost here, although we've had summer weather in my neighborhood for the last week...hot and humid. And the first week's challenge in June has arrived at The Outlawz....."anything goes" with an optional twist to make your project feminine. Now, we all know and believe that "shopping" is a female thing, so I decided to make this card for our Design Team inspiration display.

This is a tall card...the white base card measures 7.75 inches long and 5 inches wide. To the base I added a layer of Swiss dotted patterned paper in grape. I put this aside while I worked on my focal image.

The image is a Bestie's digital stamp which I colored with Copic markers and then cut it with Spellbinders Labels Thirty Six. Before removing it from the die, I sponged the edges with Memento Lulu Lavender ink.

Using Spellbinders Majestic Labels 25, I die cut a panel in white card stock and matted it with GKD Lovely Lavender. This was then popped onto my base card with dimensionals. At this point I adhered my focal image to this panel, also with dimensionals.

To complete the card I composed a sentiment on my computer, cut it with a smaller die from Spellbinders Labels Thirty Six and popped it in the upper left corner of my card. I topped my sentiment with a bow using designer paper from Dovecraft and die cut with Sue Wilson's Classic 3D Bows.

I hope you enjoyed this post and that it inspired you to create. Take time out of your day to do something you enjoy ...be it cooking, crocheting, card making, etc. It's great therapy!
